In addition to getting Pokemon with the right moves, some Pokemon also have Abilities that make it easier to encounter Wild Pokemon, which can help greatly in looking for specific encounters. One is received through completing the main story, more can be earned rarely by playing Loto-ID on the Rotom PC.Master Ball: Has a 100% Success Rate, and will catch any Pokemon without fail.Timer Ball: Success rate increases the longer the battle drags on (4 times that of a Pokeball after 10 turns).Can be bought from Pokemon Center in Hammerlocke (Dragon Gym).Dusk Ball: Has a higher success rate if used at night (3 times that of a Pokeball).Can be bought for Watts in Wild Area, or from Pokemon Center in Wyndon (last city).Quick Ball: Has a much higher success rate if used near the start of the battle (5 times that of a Pokeball).Ultra Ball: The bread and butter for lategame catching, no special effects but has a standard success rate of x2 (double that of a Pokeball).While it may be tempting to just stick with the standard red/white Pokeball, other types of balls have much better success rates. Once the Pokemon has been hit with a status effect and is at low health, the next step is to pick the right type of Pokeball for the job.
